When in flight,
there is a low pressure area under the wing creating negative
pressure on top of the wing. This results in the air under the
wing moving its way to the top of the wing.
The obvious
place for this to take place is the gaps between the control surfaces
and the wing/fuselage. Allowing this air to go through these gaps
causes a disturbance on the top of the wing. By sealing the gaps
between the wing and control surfaces you perfect the airfoil.
Note that
the control surfaces will not be affected at the gap seal contact
points. For additional durability contact points are Teflon coated
to eliminate any possibility of friction or wear.
Eliminating
this disturbance will improve the aircraft in a number of ways.
First you obtain much more effective aileron and flap control.
The bottom fuselage gap seal acts as an extension of the flaps.
You will also lower your stall speed, decrease your drag and increase
your air speed.
Finally your
handling at slower speeds will improve along with your roll rate.
Simply put, you can make a great improvement in your aircraft
with minimal expense.
